The Virginian Railway: The Best Coal Railroad Money Could Buy

Deepwater timetable.pdf

Nearly a hundred years ago, the Virginian Railway (VGN) hauled coal from southern West Virginia to Norfolk, Virginia on the coast. It was the age of booming industry and railroads in rural West Virginia.

The West Virginia Railroad Museum's 2015 display tells the story of this "Richest Little Railroad in the World." Take a sneak peek by exploring this virtual exhibit, an abbreviated version of the physical exhibit that will be up April through October 2015.

Visit the museum in the second floor of the historic Darden Mill at First Street & Railroad Ave in Elkins, West Virginia.
